COVID-19 Contact Tracing Recruitment 

These are OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

OPS COVID-19 CONTACT TRACER

Under general supervision, interviews, evaluates, and monitors clients, provides education, Guidance and isolation/quarantine parameters based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the Florida Department of Health in Broward County recommendations for those individuals who meet case definition for a confirmed, suspect, or probable case of a communicable disease.

  • Interviews cases to establish the case history.

  • Records and establishes the description and timeline of onset of symptoms and interviews case to determine all possibly exposed individuals.

  • Obtains contact information for each of those individuals.

  • Explains information and recommendations regarding isolation and quarantine parameters, services available to case, and monitors case for ongoing needs and disease clearance.

  • Helps case develop an appropriate plan which may include referral to another agency or professional.

  • Maintains detailed records of cases and assemble these into periodic reports.

  • Data entry and familiarity with computer software programs.

  • Answers telephone inquiries involved with contact tracing duties related to quarantine and monitoring of contacts.

Bilingual a plus


OPS SENIOR CLERK

Contact monitoring staff get in touch with positive clients and their contacts several times at the beginning of their monitoring and then again at the end of the self-isolation period.  This is done by either phone calls or using the TIM2 system. Attempts to follow up should be documented in Merlin.  Close contacts that develop symptoms should be instructed how to get tested and to seek Medical Care.  Have a nurse speak with the contact if you feel they are quite ill such as sound short of breath, say they feel extremely bad, seem confused or any other concern.

For contacts who end up testing positive, staff will confirm the test results and:

  • If positive, refer them automatically to the case Investigator.

  • If negative, symptomatic contacts will continue to self-quarantine until the end of the isolation period.

Contact monitoring/ Call center staff will take phone calls received into the CHD related to COVID-19.  They shall utilize CDC and guidelines provided by the CHD and relay the information the appropriate staff if they are not certain of the correct response. Phone calls should be documented, professional tone and welcoming demeanor shall be displayed on all calls.

  • May also assist with clerical duties.

  • May also assist with testing events.


OPS GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT I

Data entry Staff.  Data staff shall provide a variety of data entry and clerical duties such as completion of paperwork for each case. Mailing contacts their isolation information.  Entering cases and information into Merlin.  Maintaining and reporting Data Points related to COVID-19. Providing a written summary report each Monday am. Collecting information from the Case Investigators and contact tracers for this data.

  • Assist with set up for testing events.

  • Assist with registration/ labels for testing events.


OPS REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

Gathering comprehensive information on a patient diagnosed with COVID-19 within 48 hours of report received.  Identifying new cases daily in Merlin, faxed reports, and other labs. Completing the Case investigation template following the Merlin Case Investigation guidelines. Determining infectious period and duration of exposure.  Determining needed isolation period. Provide any resources that the patient may need while in isolation such as but not limited to masks, health information and food issues. Ensure that the patient is aware of emergency warning signs and knows how to get emergency medical assistance. Educate patient on ways to prevent infection among those in the household. Elicit a list of all close contacts (being within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes) during the patient’s infectious period. If patient is unwilling to give a list of contact, inform the patient of the importance of reducing disease transmission and direct the case patient to immediately notify their contacts and recommend they self-isolate for 14 days from the date of their last exposure to the case patient.

Other duties such as but not limited to:

  • Refer Case to TIMs/Call List.

  • Refer to Contact Tracing Staff to call all the contacts and Data entry for Case input

  • Assign case investigations to other staff that have become knowledgeable in that area

  • Review case investigations for completeness.

  • Report summary daily to Nursing Director/Epidemiologist/Director.

  • Providing specimen collection at community testing events.
