DOH-Putnam Works With the St. Johns River State College to Train Students.

April 05, 2021

St. Johns River State College (SJRSC) recently held an immunization training for clinical nursing students. It gave an opportunity to train on proper techniques and learn about the Florida Department of Health’s role within the community.

This initiative provided nursing students an opportunity to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to other allied health students at the Palatka Campus. These students experience direct patient contact as part of their clinicals. DOH-Putnam and the college work together on a variety of initiatives that benefit the health and welfare of our community.

Nursing student Hunter Mitchel administered the COVID-19 VACCINE to SJR State medical Assistant student Henry Sullivan. Kristal Goodwin, a registered nurse with DOH-Putnam was on hand to provide education and assist with the vaccination.
