Putnam Unites

February 15, 2021

DOH-Putnam and community partners planned and coordinated efforts to establish the Putnam County Unified Command Center for COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Putnam established a drive-through point of distribution that launched on January 5th, 2021. We continue to distribute the vaccine on appointed days on an appointment basis.

The process requires Florida residents to register on the DOH-Putnam website. Over 9,000 citizens registered on the site. Each is getting a call to schedule an appointment in the order they registered. The entire process at the fairgrounds is approximately 30-45 minutes: from check-in to release for observation. To date the CHD has administered over 4000 vaccines to first responders, health care workers and citizens over 65 years of age.

The Putnam Vaccination POD has received numerous positive comments, Facebook postings and "Thank You" letters to the newspaper from residents regarding the ease of the process. We are proud of our Putnam team's dedication in keeping our residents safe from COVID-19. #LiveWellPutnam
