DOH-Putnam Partners With Heart of Putnam

April 14, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has directly impacted many in our community and DOH-Putnam continues to provide a variety of health services along with COVID-19 testing and vaccinations to keep our community healthy. We are fortunate to partner and or/collaborate with the “Heart of Putnam” (HOP) as a community partner. HOP a nonprofit social service agency helps those residents in need.

This past year the needs of our community have been ever-increasing. In 2019, the center answered 7,000 phones and assisted 1,300 families. They offer a multitude of services including assistance with food stamps, rent, and utility payments; clothing, bedding, etc.; provide the homeless with bottled water, sleeping bags, personal hygiene products; etc.; offer a Re-Entry Program assisting inmates with transition back to public life; computer access, free IRS tax preparation assistance are just a few of the many services they offer.

Together along we strive to keep our community healthy and strong during these uncertain times.
