Palatka, Fla. - Congratulations to the Putnam Community Medical Center (PCMC) for being recognized by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and the Florida Department of Health (DOH) as one of 20 Florida hospitals in that achieved the Healthy People 2020 (HP2020) Maternal and Child Health goal in 2017.

The team focused on reducing cesarean section deliveries for first-time mothers with low-risk pregnancies. The PCMC continues to strive for the Florida Baby Friendly Hospital designation, and trains maternity ward RNs as lactation counselors.
