Putnam County, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Putnam County (DOH-Putnam) has issued a health alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algae toxins in Georges Lake. The alert is in response to a water sample taken on January 20, 2026. The public should exercise caution in and around Georges Lake.
